As part of the U.S. DOE Building America program, FSEC and CPS Energy are evaluating the performance of three homes in San Antonio, Texas with identical ~2,000 ft2 floor plans and orientation. One home built to builder standard practice serves as the control (CP1), while the other homes (CP2 & CP3) demonstrate high performance features.

Control Home (CP1) Features:
- 86 HERS Index
- Standard vented attic (R38)
- Frame walls insulated to R-13
- Single pane, clear glass, metal windows
- SEER 14 air conditioner and 80% gas furnace
- Standard gas tank water heater (EF 0.58)
- All other appliances are electric
